Sir Isaac Newton was born on 4 January 1643
There is an interesting story linked to Isaac Newton during the period when he was supposed to practise farming. A steep hill is situated between Grantham and Woolsthorpe. It was a usual practice to dismount and lead one’s horse to the top of the hill before remounting. It is said that one day Newton arrived home with a book in one hand and the bridle in the other, his horse trotting behind him, as he had forgotten to remount. Throughout his life he had this habit of forgetfullness.
